This watercolor was painted at Mile 100 of the Glenn Highway in South Central Alaska. The viewpoint overlooks the clinging hillside spruce trees, the Matanuska Glacier valley and the headwaters of the Matanuska River. The background mountains are obscured by low-lying clouds and fog, a phenomenon frequently seen in Alaska.
