Description
The simplicity of the white water lily caught my eye as it floated on top of a lake near the shoreline. The lily was painted using three pigments applying many very thin layers on top of each other after the layers dried. White Wonder - White Water Lily (Nymphaea odorata) is a fragrant water lily which grows rooted in mucky or silty bottoms up to 5 feet deep. The white flower has rows of petals surrounded by a yellow center that floats on the water surface or just above it. It is surrounded by round, floating leave about 6-12 inches in diameter; the flowers open in the morning and close by late afternoon. They provide a very good habitat for fish and waterfowl love to eat the seeds. This would make a lovely addition to your home or office.
