About Karen Mattson

Karen Mattson

Karen Mattson, Artist Karen Mattson grew up in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, but moved to Alaska in 1968. Her interest in art began at an early age and it sparked a lifelong journey into the discovery of making art. She considers herself a self-taught artist, but has enjoyed learning from a few artists traveling in Alaska.
